Learn the process for building your own “trash can” raku kilns and fire up to 5 bisque fired pieces.  

I’ll walk you through the build process and then we will fire your pieces bringing the temperature up to approx. 1800+ degrees over 1-2 hours.  We’ll place your red hot pieces in reduction containers where we will see the fire process take place before safely containing your work.  

You will need to provide your own bisque fired pieces decorated with raku glaze (you can purchase raku clay and studio time separately).  I will provide dry carbonaceous material and you are welcome to bring your own – eg horse hair.

The entire process takes place outside and depends on the weather conditions.  Each raku workshop is individually scheduled.
