Sugarland Studios is a welcoming pottery studio on a Poolesville microfarm in Montgomery County’s Ag Reserve where adults and kids can create, explore, and feel at home.
From pottery classes and one-night workshops to camps, parties, and seasonal events, we make it easy to get your hands in clay and be part of something joyful.

At Sugarland Studios, pottery is more than learning a skill — it’s a chance to slow down, make something meaningful, and enjoy being part of a creative community. Our studio is set on a working microfarm with alpacas, horses, chickens, and open skies, giving every class and event a warm, relaxed, and memorable feel.

Whether you’re trying the wheel for the first time, joining an 8-week class, signing your child up for camp, or planning a creative outing with friends, you’ll find a fun, supportive environment where everyone is welcome.

We offer a rotating schedule of pottery classes and workshops designed for all experience levels:

• Wheel Throwing Classes – Learn centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and glazing
• Handbuilding Workshops – Create mugs, vases, bowls, and sculptural forms using slab, coil, and pinch techniques
• Sip & Clay Nights – A fun, social evening of pottery making with friends or couples
• Seasonal & Specialty Workshops – Raku firing, themed builds, and creative intensives

All materials, tools, glazes, and firings are included—just show up ready to create.
